GOODBYE? Celtic Star Confirms Emotional Exit Message After Final Appearance for the Club
One of the celtic star has strongly hinted that his time at Celtic is over after posting an emotional message to fans on social media following a season-ending injury setback.
The Czech forward joined Celtic on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach during the January transfer window, with the club reportedly holding an option to sign him permanently at the end of the season. But after a difficult few months in Glasgow, it now looks increasingly unlikely that move will happen.
Cvancara confirmed on Instagram that he has suffered a serious adductor injury and will need surgery, bringing his campaign to an early end.
In his emotional message, the 25-year-old admitted this was not how he imagined his spell at Celtic ending.
“This season is over for me,” he wrote. ( Tomas Cvancara)
“Next week I’ll have surgery after tearing my adductor. Honestly, this is not the ending I imagined during my time at Celtic, and definitely not how I wanted things to finish.
“But I’m still grateful for the opportunity to wear this shirt, be part of this team, and experience these moments with the club.
“Even though I know I didn’t have as many personal highlights as I wanted, every time I stepped onto the pitch I gave everything I had for the badge.
“And to the fans — thank you for all the support, messages and encouragement. It really meant a lot to me.
“Now I’ll support the team from the sidelines and hopefully the boys can finish the season strongly and bring home the double.”
His injury all but ends any chance of Celtic triggering the permanent transfer clause included in his loan deal.
Cvancara arrived with high expectations earlier this year, but injuries and fierce competition in attack made it difficult for him to secure a regular starting place. He managed only two goals in 13 appearances, though one of those moments will not be forgotten by supporters anytime soon.
The striker kept his cool to score the winning penalty against Rangers in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox — a huge moment in one of the biggest matches of the season. Many fans hoped that goal would spark a strong finish to the campaign for the Czech international.
Unfortunately, injuries once again interrupted his progress.
Celtic’s attacking options have also become much stronger in recent weeks. Daizen Maeda has returned to top form at a crucial stage of the season, while Kelechi Iheanacho has also started making a much bigger impact after a slow beginning to life at Parkhead.
That left Cvancara struggling for regular minutes.
Despite his short stay, there is clearly no bitterness from the player towards the club or supporters. His farewell message showed genuine appreciation for the backing he received during his time in Glasgow.
For now, the striker’s attention turns towards recovery and rehabilitation, while Celtic continue their pursuit of another league and Scottish Cup double without him.
